Congratulations to Ben Foulkes winner of the RIBA Presidents Medals 2021 Bronze Medal with his project ‘Seeding Swanscombe Marshes‘ (Part 1, The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, UK). The project has since been published on RIBA Journal, The Architects’ Journal, Building Design, ArchDaily, Bustler, Stir World and e-Architect. Ben Foulkes was a student of Architecture BSc Unit 9. Shortlisted for V&A East Museum galleries fit-out

Consortium ‘Studio C102 + Mobile Studio Architects + Manijeh Verghese with Sthuthi Ramesh’ has been shortlisted for V&A East Museum galleries fit-out. The winner will draw up plans for a pair of £1.4m-to-1.7m gallery spaces within the O’Donnell + Tuomey-designed V&A East Museum, and is due to open in 2025. A winner is expected to be announced later this summer (27 Jun)

Silver Lovie and People’s Lovie Awards

The Bartlett School of Architecture’s online show platform has won a Silver Lovie, and People’s Lovie. The online platform was launched with The Bartlett Summer Show 2020, and now twelve shows are archived at bartlettarchucl.com The platform is developed in collaboration with Hello Monday (part of DEPT agency). The Lovie Awards are named in honour of Britain’s Ada Lovelace, credited as being the first computer programmer. They are the most prestigious and coveted award recognising excellence on the European Internet. Lovie winners are selected by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a global organisation of industry experts and technology innovators, and a public online ballot (25 Oct)

South Asia Gallery design competition – winner

Studio C102 in collaboration with Mobile Studio Architects have won a competition to design the new permanent South Asia Gallery for Manchester Museum in partnership with the British Museum and co-curated with the local community (South Asia Gallery Collective and Our Shared Cultural Heritage Manchester). The first permanent gallery in the UK to celebrate the lived experiences and contributions of the South Asian diaspora opens to the public. A place for emotional connections and new perspectives, it will bring together world-class collections and lived experiences in a landmark partnership with the British Museum and co-curated with the local community (South Asia Gallery Collective and Our Shared Cultural Heritage Manchester). Studio C102 X Mobile Studio shortlisted for National Railway Museum Wonderlab gallery competition

Collaborators Studio C102 X Mobile Studio Architects together with Max Fordham are among five design teams shortlisted to design the £3m Wonderlab gallery at the National Railway Museum in York. The winner, to be announced shortly, will create a ticketed 1,466sqm interactive exhibition for 7-to-14 year olds featuring ‘powerful and memorable experiences’ focusing on engineering. It will be built within the museum’s ground-floor engineering workshop as part of their Vision 2025 regeneration masterplan. See Wonderlab Gallery (13 Nov)
